This film shows and explains the dangers of hydrogen sulphide (H2S), and the methods of working safely in areas where there is a risk of exposure to this highly toxic and dangerous gas.

Shot on North Sea drilling rigs at locations where the dangers of H2S are real and not staged, this training program is used by Oil & Gas drilling and production companies, with some drilling companies placing copies on every rig.

Contents include: H2S concentrations in parts per million; occupational exposure levels; contingency plans; buddy system; identification of risk areas; monitoring; gas detectors; actions to take when H2S is detected; safe briefing areas; rescue drills; breathing apparatus; cascade airline systems.

The film also includes an interactive ‘Question and Answer’ module through which crew can select their multiple choice answers which appear on-screen and ‘tick’ the appropriate boxes on the answer forms. Answers are provided on the ‘Trainer’s Master Answer Check Form’.
